Job Title: 3D Design

Duration: 12 months (High possibility for full-time conversion)

Location: Indianapolis. IN (Remote)

The 3D Asset Coordinator builds stencils and Revit families to support the visual and technical requirements for non-automated and automated lab designs. The 3D Asset Coordinator creates advanced 3D visualization, animations, simulations, and immersive extended Reality experiences to engage the customer throughout the lab design and implementation process, promote the sales opportunity, and support marketing needs. This off-campus position is a part of the **** Business Operation team and works closely with colleagues, as well as internal and external stakeholders (global business affiliates, marketing, field engineers, architects, customers, and others) to address the customers’ unique design requirements. While this is a remote position, it may require up to 20% overnight travel across the US.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Manages, builds, and/or sources vendor stencil libraries and Revit families for creation of photorealistic or parametric 3D lab designs following established brand guidelines

Facilitates ongoing discussions with internal teams to ensure technical specifications and metadata parameters are accurate for new or existing product stencils and Revit families

Develops 3D models, renderings, animations, simulations and advanced visualizations of laboratory designs using Revit, Sketchup, SimLab, Enscape, Unreal Engine, and/or other 3D design software

Design and develop virtual and interactive environments, simulations, and digital prototypes for various applications, such as, flyovers, videos, sample flow, etc…

Performs XR demonstrations during customer engagements, workshops, and conferences, as needed

Creates training material, trains users, and develops protocols for 3D software applications and XR solutions, as needed

Collaborate on designs with internal and external customers for modifications and final approval

Documents and maintains change requests for 3D designs, animations, simulations, and visualization of the proposed and/or final lab designs.

Transforms Matterport digital twin (BIM files or Point clouds) into formats used throughout the non-automation and complex automation design lifecycle, as needed

Produces detailed concept designs, phasing plans, and construction drawings using 2D/3D CAD software for non-automation and automated solutions, as needed

Reports progress and status of assignments on a timely basis

Manages multiple complex projects and tasks to meet the turnaround time demands of the assignment

Remain current in 3D software solutions and immersive technology trends

Takes initiative, mentors and works closely with operation team on project tasks

Works closely with team to provide backup support tasks on projects with tight schedules

Performs other 3D or XR design assignments, special projects and support functions, as needed

Employs all company standards and follows established procedures to deliver quality results in the performance of assigned tasks

You are a professional 3D Visual Artist who has experience with architectural design, advanced visualization, animations and developing XR experiences. You seek to leverage your creative and technical skills to visualize laboratory solutions that elevate the customer experience throughout the design process leading to successful implementations. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders to creatively visualize their unique design solutions. You are organized, attentive to detail, and possess excellent time management skills.

Minimum Requirements

5 years of professional experience with Autodesk AEC products, Revit, BIM, Maya Zbrush, and/or other CAD-related software

1-2 years of advanced experience creating Revit families with metadata and schedules

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years’ experience creating advanced visualization, 3D renderings, animations, and developing XR experiences for architectural design

Bachelor’s degree in Visual or Graphic Arts, Animation, Game Design, Architectural Design, Engineering, or comparable

Exceptional 3D modeling and rendering skills with a deep knowledge of computer graphics (lighting, gesturing, shading, etc…) to achieve photorealistic and powerful imagery of laboratory design solutions

Advanced knowledge of Metaverse and eXtended Reality Solutions

Intermediate understanding of Business Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk Construction Cloud (Client)

Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) standards

General knowledge of other related disciplines and company objective

A portfolio showcasing relevant 3D visualization and eXtended Reality projects, including VR/AR applications and digital prototypes, is highly desirable

Proficient in the terminology used in architectural design environments

In-depth understanding of CAD file management and functionality

Willing and able to travel 20% of the time

Reside within 50 miles of a major US metropolitan airport
