Award-winning studio, FuturLab, is seeking an experienced Lead 3D Artist (Generalist) to Lead the Art team on a new and exciting IP.
As a Lead 3D Artist at FuturLab you will be a key member of the studio’s team and contribute to building beautiful stylized and unique worlds while leading and nurturing the Art team.
FuturLab values creativity, positive collaboration, and are as well known for their focus on employee well-being as they are for creating titles like PowerWash Simulator, Velocity series, and Peaky Blinders Mastermind.

Your Responsibilities…
- Lead the Art team for a new and exciting IP in collaboration with the Lead Designer, Lead Programmer, and Producer
- Undertake various 3D game art production tasks, including modelling, texturing, VFX, lighting, shaders, and look development
- Problem-solve, scope art tasks, assign them to the team, and collaborate with the Programming team on implementation
- Monitor progress, engage in future planning with production, and identify art resources needed
- Be involved in the recruitment process, showcasing your proactive, positive, and caring approach to team management
- Serve as a vision holder for the style and art direction of the game(s), effectively communicating and guiding Artists on achieving required results
- Ensure games have a unique style and are polished to a high quality
- Provide regular feedback and reviews to ensure high-quality artwork
- Direct the creation of concepts from the Concept Art team and manage the translation to in-game assets
- Collaborate with other departments to develop effective art pipelines
- Mentor less experienced Artists and manage outsourcing when needed
- Collaborate with the Producer to track progress and schedule art tasks
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
- Experience as a Lead Artist from an earlier role
- Solid experience using Unity
- 8 or more years of games industry experience
- Strong artistic fundamentals with effective communication skills for critique and artistic intent
- Proficiency in common Game Art tools such as 3DS Max/Blender, Substance Designer/Painter, ZBrush, and Photoshop
- Knowledge of lighting, shaders, and scene setup
- Ability to itemise tasks, assign realistic time scales, and take responsibility for delivering art from both an artistic and organisational standpoint
- Ability to inspire, support, and guide the art team for optimal performance
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, helpful, and positive demeanour
