About Us
Afterglow Interactive is an independent game development studio working on
Target: Galaxy
, a first-person, intergalactic bounty hunter, action-investigation RPG set in a deep-space cyberpunk universe. We aim to push creative boundaries with immersive storytelling, innovative gameplay mechanics, and rich world-building.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a 3D Environment Artist skilled in sci-fi hard surface modeling and world-building. This voluntary role is perfect for someone passionate about crafting gritty, futuristic environments—ranging from detailed cyberpunk interiors and exteriors to vast, open planetary landscapes. It’s a great opportunity to contribute to an ambitious indie project, grow your portfolio, and work alongside a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:

Landscape Creation
– Build atmospheric sci-fi landscapes and terrain (planet surfaces) in Unreal Engine 5. -
Hard Surface Modelling
– Design detailed sci-fi props, architecture, and modular structures. -
Texturing & Materials
– Apply high-quality, PBR textures using industry-standard tools. -
World-Building
– Contribute to a believable and immersive universe through environmental storytelling.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

Set Dressing/Level Design
– Using assets to bring areas to life. -
Lighting & Mood
– Help define tone and vibe through lighting setups. -
Kitbashing & Optimization
– Efficiently reuse and modify assets for rapid development.
Requirements:
- Strong portfolio (bonus: sci-fi hard surface and/or landscape work).
- Proficient in Unreal Engine and relevant 3D tools (e.g., Maya, Blender, Substance).
- Solid understanding of PBR workflow, UV mapping, and asset optimization.
- Self-driven, reliable, and comfortable working in a remote team environment.
