Overview:

Join the Avalon team as a Prop Artist play a crucial role in bringing to life the vibrant world of our groundbreaking Unreal-based MMORPG. We’re seeking a talented individual with a deep understanding of prop and set dressing.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prop and Environment Creation:
  • Design and create realistic and highly detailed props and environmental assets.
  • Work from concept art and reference images to produce accurate and immersive 3D models.
  • Sculpt high-poly models in ZBrush and create low-poly models in Maya for real-time applications.


  • Texturing and Materials:
  • Use Substance Painter to create detailed and realistic textures and materials.
  • Ensure materials and textures align with the visual style and performance requirements of the game.
  • Implement physically-based rendering (PBR) techniques to achieve high-quality results.


  • Integration and Optimization:
  • Integrate props and environmental assets into Unreal Engine, ensuring they meet technical and artistic standards.
  • Optimize assets for performance without sacrificing visual quality.
  • Collaborate with the technical art team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to asset integration.


  • Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Work closely with environment artists, level designers, and other team members to ensure a cohesive visual style.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior prop artists, offering feedback and support to improve their skills and workflows.
  • Participate in art reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality standards.


  • Research and Development:
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new techniques in 3D modeling, texturing, and game development.
  • Experiment with new tools and workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct research to gather references and inspiration for prop and environment designs.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a prop artist in the video game industry, with a portfolio showcasing highly detailed and realistic props and environments.
  • Proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine.
  • Strong understanding of modeling, texturing, and material creation workflows.
  • Experience with physically-based rendering (PBR) techniques.
  • Ability to optimize assets for performance without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of lighting and rendering techniques within Unreal Engine.
  • Passion for video games and creating immersive environments.
