In partnership with Immutable, Bazooka Tango is bringing Shardbound, an immersive, multiplayer collectible tactics game packed with rich lore, deep strategy, and cutthroat competition to the web3 gaming space. Set in the lush Axis islands floating above the earth’s core, players must craft mind-bending card decks to outwit opponents and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Embark on an epic quest to preserve the bonds of the Lifeweave and uncover the secrets of the Shards.

As a

3D Artist

, you will own the development of a wide scope of art content (character, environment, etc) using Maya and Unreal. You will be working hands-on in producing art, from creating art from scratch to making improvements from vendor files as well as integration work to move art assets into the engine.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage highly optimized, visually stunning, and engaging characters, environments, and other assets, with a Maya to Unreal workflow.
  • Integration and setup of art assets into the game.
  • Familiarity with animation workflows
  • Lighting and shader work in Unreal.
  • Collaborate with the art, design and tech teams to ensure that assets adhere to the highest quality standards and gameplay requirements
  • Provide game assets to the marketing team under strict guidelines, using game captures, Marmoset, etc.
  • Participate in the development of new features and tools to improve the game development process and workflow
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with team members to ensure timely and efficient delivery of game assets
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets
  • Balances a 75% artistic and 25% technical focus
  • Remain up to date with current trends and developments in game art and design


Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in game development using Unreal Engine
  • Portfolio demonstrating an artistic eye and a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable skills in creating game ready art, especially using mid-poly workflows
  • An understanding of technical aspects of making game art for Unreal.
  • A solid understanding of shader workflows and setups in engine
  • Proficiency with blueprints, shaders, sequencer, and other technical aspect of asset implementation in Unreal
  • Experience creating and managing content for Unreal
  • An in-depth knowledge of typical 3D content creation software (Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter etc), Perforce, and familiar with at least one production tool like Jira or similar
  • Knowledge of how to maintain content tree structure during production


Bonus Points for:

  • Maya Tool Environment; Python, Pymel scripting
  • Unreal UE scripting

The compensation for this position includes an hourly salary range of $43.00 – $65.00/hour.
