We are looking for a
Character Technical Artist
who is experienced in creating and maintaining pipelines of tools for rigging, character modeling, deformation and animation with the goal of creating unique characters that players will love.
You’ll be joining a small team with big ambitions and an obsession to create memorable game experiences.
WHO YOU ARE

You are passionate about games and what they mean for our players in the global community

You have expert-level experience in being a character-focused technical artist

You are great at working hands-on with character rigging, skinning, topology, deformations, muscle, hair, cloth, physics and all other character workflows

You can look at an asset and quickly establish what the issues are and how to address them

You strive to rig assets and create tools that will set our game apart from others

You can work well with external vendors and clients

WHAT YOU WILL DO
-
Set up character art pipelines and write tools to support them
-
Collaborate with content creation teams to establish best-practice workflows to ensure assets will perform properly in game
-
Skin and rig characters, props, creatures
-
Work closely with Engineering, Game Design, Character and World Art to ensure your contributions align with overall gameplay goals
-
Collaborate with modeling teams (internal and external) to create best-practice workflow documentation
-
Design, implement and maintain our asset production pipelines in the Unreal Engine
-
Collaborate closely with the Art Director and team. Bring ideas and feedback to improve the game and our teams development process
-
Provide exceptionally consistent, reliable, and outstanding feedback to internal and external team members
-
Take part in R&D efforts by working with the team members to develop new content types around lighting, shaders, vfx and animation
-
Streamline artist workflows by developing artist friendly tools and scripts in 3rd party applications (e.g., Painter, Maya, Zbrush)

Help the team in identifying new ways to incorporate technology with art in order to increase efficiency and unlock new creative opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
(must have)
-
Significant professional experience as a technical artist in games or related industries
-
Experience working with Python or comparable tools and have used it to help create large impactful tools for artists, riggers, or animators
-
Have shipped at least 2 AAA video games or equivalent
-
Houdini experience
-
A portfolio showing relevant examples of your work

Proficient with Zbrush and other related tools for your craft

Expert knowledge of Maya
