CoSA VFX has a full-time remote opportunity for a

VFX Pipeline Supervisor

. This new role will be responsible for developing and supporting VFX pipeline tools that accelerate efficient workflows in the production of high-quality visual effects. CoSA’s VFX Pipeline Supervisor will report to the heads of CG and 2D and a senior member of the technical director working group.

As the Pipeline Supervisor at CoSA, you’ll collaborate with technical directors from different departments and other stakeholders to create advanced tools, techniques, and procedures.

These innovations will support the completion of ongoing projects and enhance the capabilities of the CoSA production pipeline. This role necessitates strong technical abilities, effective communication skills, and a deep understanding of software design, as well as the integration of 2D and 3D elements in production processes.

At its core, this role is focused on artist and production needs: Ensuring that a strong and robust pipeline is in place, and continuously improving to ensure a smooth, efficient workflow and positive experience for the CoSA team.


Candidates must be based in one of the following locations (Canada: British Columbia or Ontario)

. CoSA VFX is a completely remote studio.


RESPONSIBILITIES

:

  • Drive the design, implementation, and evolution of CoSA’s pipeline, focusing on efficiency, resiliency and studio goals, working cooperatively with department TDs
  • Assure that CoSA’s pipeline software documentation is clear and understandable by writing and revising documentation for tools, techniques and workflows
  • Work closely with department stakeholders to enhance their workflows and toolsets, ensuring that pipeline obstacles do not hinder departments from reaching their project objectives.
  • Collaborate with artists, production teams, and CoSA Technical Directors to address production challenges together through troubleshooting and teamwork.
  • Ensure that the pipeline meets the needs of the CoSA studio at large, creating a robust, flexible, scalable pipeline which allows individual VFX projects to have their needs met while maintaining a consistent process
  • Foster a positive and productive workplace atmosphere and spearhead collaborative initiatives throughout the studio.
  • Act as a mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the team


QUALIFICATIONS

:

Experience in the following:

  • Experience with digital content creation tools such as Nuke, Maya, Houdini, etc. (Knowledge of Unreal Engine is a bonus).
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, industry trends, new products, and the pipeline engineering team’s role in VFX, feature animation, or AAA game production.
  • Source control management systems like Git, Perforce, etc
  • Python programming language and standard python libraries
  • Demonstrable experience developing software in Linux or Windows environments
  • Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented sensibilities
  • A degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering, or equivalent industry experience, is preferred.

CoSA’s compensation and benefits package includes employer-paid comprehensive health benefits, a pension program, paid sick leave, and more.

The wage range for this full-time position is $90,000 – $160,000 annually which is a good faith assessment associated with this position/location only and will be assessed depending on the skills and background of each candidate.
