3D Artist
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global social media brand who are looking for a passionate 3D Artist to closely work with a multidisciplinary to build people-first immersive experiences that will help define the future of online interaction.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to prototype and develop 2D/3D static and animated content in an innovative framework and provide feedback to the tooling.
- Asset optimization — topology reduction, draw call reduction, texture baking, etc.
- Work closely with engineers and technical artists to implement interactive objects and systems.
- Review and prioritize work across multiple projects.
- Responsible for outlining asset authoring guidelines, processes and pipelines as needed.
- Quickly solve issues with your cross-functional leads.
- Collaborate and iterate based on the team’s needs.
- Develop broad technical expertise to assist in various technical and artistic tasks. Through to deployment
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience as a 3D generalist, motion designer and/or illustrator at a creative agency, game or film industry.
- Link to an online portfolio showcasing relevant work (include a link on your resume) that exhibits conceptual ability and experience working in various styles, compositions, colour, and designs.
- Generalist knowledge in skills such as modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, physics and particle systems
- Strong artistic and aesthetic sensibilities.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and asset creation packages like Maya, Blender, Substance Painter/Designer, Photoshop, etc.
- Experience with one or more commercial game engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal, Meta Spark)
- Experience communicating in a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, artists, and designers
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex visual concepts clearly.
- Experience with shader languages
Contract details:
- £400 – £450 per day (depending on Location)
- 25 days paid holiday
- Fully Remote
- 6-month contract
