Optomi | AutoCAD Technical Designer(Remote, Biotech Industry)

Optomi, in partnership with a prominent company in the Biotechnolgy industry, is seeking skilled AutoCAD Drafters / Technical Designers to support technical design initiatives within a high-impact, regulated product development environment. About the Work

As a Technical Designer, you will be responsible for creating and refining detailed technical drawings for custom-engineered plastic bag systems used in critical healthcare and life sciences applications. These systems range from compact, 2D containers to complex, large-scale 3D assemblies designed for fluid handling and biological material processing.

Your work will include:

• Producing accurate, high-quality CAD drawings for manufacturing and engineering use
• Applying design templates, validating technical details, and performing drawing QA
• Collaborating with engineering teams to support continuous product innovation
• Assisting with the development of modular drawing libraries and template-based design tools

Must-Have Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and3D)
• Experience interpreting and creating technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on detailed drafting tasks

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with AutoCAD Mechanical or similar CAD tools
• Experience working in regulated industries such as medical, biotech, or manufacturing
• Knowledge of PDM systems (e.g., PDM Enterprise or similar)
• Understanding of modular design and design-for-manufacturing principles
