Rocky Tales | Freelance 3D Animator (Part-Time, Contract) – Remote | Canada Preferred

Are you a creative 3D animator with a passion for storytelling?

We’re a proudly Canadian company based in Alberta, Canada and we’re looking for a

freelance 3D artist/animator

to help bring our characters and brand to life through short-form video content and product-focused reels.

You’ll be working with existing 3D models (created in Blender) to produce short animated videos for use across web and social platforms. Think quick-hit animations, interactive elements, and engaging reels that help shape the identity of our growing Canadian brand.

on a per-project basis

, ideal for students, recent grads, or independent creatives looking to grow their portfolios with meaningful work. Preference will be given to Canadian applicants, particularly those with a love for the outdoors and snow sports, as it aligns with our mission and will help more accurate bring our stories to screen.

What you’ll do:

You’ll be working with pre-built 3D models (created in Blender) to produce:

• Short hero videos (8–10 seconds) for website and landing pages
• Social media reels featuring dynamic product-style animations
• Interactive character loops for website hover or scroll-based interactions
• Marketing animations that capture the fun, movement, and spirit of our characters

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in Blender – must be confident working with existing .blend files and character rigs
• Growing portfolio showcasing character animation, stylized visuals, or product-focused motion design
• Great email communication skills — prompt, organized, and open to creative feedback
• Able to work independently and manage time effectively on a flexible schedule
• Must be comfortable signing an NDA and completing one paid test animation before project hiring
• Anticipated turnaround for test video: within 1 month
• Initial work includes a small batch of short-form animations for digital marketing
