We are a new remote stealth start-up looking to shake up the video game industry with high quality, edgy, and fun games for PC/Console. We’re currently in early development on a third person shooter for PC. We have industry veterans from top gaming companies involved and are looking for driven and talented co-founders to help us put together a breathtaking prototype to raise seed funding. In this initial seed funding round, we are only able to pay in equity. But once funds are raised, we will be bringing salaries to the table.
Role Description
This is a contract, remote role for a Lead Character Artist (Co-Founder) who will be responsible for the 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating of playable character models and enemy AI models. The Lead Character Artist will work closely with the CEO to design and create characters for an exciting new game.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and animating, with a portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of artistic fundamentals
- Proficient in 3D software (e.g., Maya or 3ds Max or Blender), ZBrush, and texturing tools (e.g., Substance Painter or Photoshop)
- Familiarity with preparing assets for use in Unreal Engine 5
- Ability to create stunning visuals
- Knowledge of texturing and lighting techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Design or relevant field
- At least 5 years in the industry working in similar roles
- Experience as a Lead Artist is a plus
