Position Summary:
Lead Artist
Create compelling 3D Art for AAA game projects for PC and Consoles.

- Execute on the artistic direction, vision, and iterate on new ideas, concepts, and prototypes to support the various business initiatives.
- Elevate the capabilities of the Artists under the guidance of the Head of Art and the Creative leadership.
- Reports to: Head of Art and Project Art Directors
Responsibilities
- Lead our talented group of 3D/2D Artists to create high-quality game assets and be the keeper of the artistic vision set forth by the Head of Art / Project Art Director.
- Work closely with Production to ensure quality of milestone deliverables that are both visually impactful and optimally created.
- Assist the Art Director in surfacing team capabilities while focusing the artists on priorities and delivery requirements of the projects.
- Create references and key 3D assets that exemplifies the target level of quality while mentoring the artists to ensure alignment and understanding of processes and expectations.
- Review and improve the quality of 3D assets being integrated into the games we make. Lead efforts in testing and verifying assets for performance and adherence.
Requirements
- Portfolio that demonstrates your current skills in the creation of 3D Meshes/UVs/Textures and the Material/Shader implementations within Unreal Engine for game development.
- BA or BS in Art, Animation, or Industrial/Entertainment Design.
- 8+ years in art positions within the video game industry developing for PC or Console.
- Shipped 1+ Unreal Engine games on PC or Console within the last 3 years as the project Lead Artist.
- Proven experience in rallying the art team and inspiring them to create word-class game assets throughout all the phases of game development.
- High level of proficiency in translating Concept Designs into 3D game assets with a solid understanding of form/design language and lighting/color theory.
- Demonstrable expertise in at least 2 of the following game art disciplines:
- Environment/World Development
- Concept Design Development
- Character/Creature Development
- Vehicles/Weapon Development
- Expertise with DCC tools, especially Maya and ZBrush with up-to-date knowledge on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies that influence 3D content creation.
- Applicable experience with Agile and Modified Waterfall for developing and shipping games for PC/Console.
- Proficient with Jira, Confluence, Helix Core (Perforce).
- Required 3-4 hours of overlap with PST.

- Shipped games using Frostbite Engine as an individual contributor.
- Great interpersonal skills and calm demeanor under pressure.
- Experience teaching at the University/College level on relevant subject matter.
- Demonstrated dedication to personal growth as an artist and a leader
- Experience with Crossplay (Cross-Platform) development.
