Job Description:


Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Unity Artist to join our dynamic team for a 3-month contract, with the likelihood of extension based on performance and project requirements. As a Unity Artist, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, and Unity Developers to create immersive effects and environments in Unity to take our interactive experiences to the next level. The initial remit will focus specifically on working with 3D data from one of the top sports leagues in the world and industry leading 3D data technology to be showcased at client-facing events later in the year.


Responsibilities:


3D Environment:


Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and create immersive 3D sports environments that captivate and engage users across various platforms.


Visual Effects:


Conceptualize and create captivating visual effects to enhance the user experience, including particle effects, lighting, and shaders.


Unity Integration:


Work closely with Unity Developers to integrate your 3D environments and visual effects into the Unity platform, ensuring they meet the project’s creative vision and technical requirements.


Asset Creation:


Contribute to the creation of 3D assets, textures, and materials to bring the environments and effects to life.


Optimization:


Ensure that the 3D environments and visual effects are optimized for real-time rendering and perform well across different platforms.


XR Immersion:


Explore and implement immersive XR experiences to take sports content to the next level, working with XR developers and designers.


Collaboration:


Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of 3D environments and visual effects into our platform.


Documentation:


Maintain clear and organized documentation for your design workflows, best practices, and asset libraries to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team. To maintain a clean and tidy project workspace within the Unity source, with strong discipline towards obsolete files.


Qualifications


:


Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, 3D Animation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).


Proven 3+ years experience as a Unity Artist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in 3D environment design and visual effects.


Proficiency in Unity3D and 3D modeling software.


Strong understanding and experience with Unity’s creation tools such as Timeline, Animator, Shader Graphs, Render Pipelines, Post Processing, Particle Effects. (or similar).


Strong artistic and design skills, with an understanding of visual storytelling and user engagement.


Experience in creating 3D assets, textures, and materials.


Familiarity with real-time rendering and performance optimization.


Fairly strong understanding in C# programming and Unity3 development tools, however candidates will


not


be expected to write complex scripts.


Experience with Unity’s WebRequest, JSON serialization and calling to external APIs (RESTful) is a plus.


Familiar with source control (such as GitHub) and CI/CD processes, and ability to manage and maintain the project source code.


Familiarity with VR/AR development (e.g., Oculus, VisionPro) is a plus.


Passion for gaming, sports, and emerging technologies.


Excellent problem-solving, communication, teamwork skills and attention to detail.
