Job Description
We’re looking for a talented 3D Environmental Artist to take the lead on crafting the world of our story-driven indie game. While some props and character modeling might be part of the mix, the core focus — about 90% of the work — is on building immersive environments that bring the game’s world to life.
This is a remote, rev-share role on a Unity-based open-world project with a small and passionate team (dev, writer, cutscene artist). If you love shaping atmosphere, mood, and storytelling through environments — this one’s for you.
What You’ll Do:
Create game-ready environmental assets (terrain, architecture, nature, props)
Block out and polish modular level pieces for open-world exploration
Build spaces that support narrative moments and cinematic cutscenes
Occasionally assist with props and simple character models, if needed
Work closely with the Unity dev to optimize and integrate everything smoothly
Who You Are:
Skilled in Blender (or similar), and comfortable with Unity pipeline
Experience with stylized or semi-realistic environmental art
Knows how to handle modularity, LODs, UVs, lightmaps, and clean topology
Able to model characters/props if needed, but your real strength is worldbuilding
Loves visual storytelling and building spaces that feel alive
Compensation:
This is a rev-share opportunity. Everyone on the project splits revenue fairly based on contribution. You’ll receive full credit, a custom recommendation letter, and strong portfolio material. Perfect for anyone looking to level up, gain experience, and help build something meaningful from the ground up.
